RISTAU, John E. ''Jack'' John E. "Jack" Ristau age 69 of Fairfield Township passed away Saturday October 13, 2007 at his residence. He was born June 5, 1938 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, the son of the late Carl and Norma (nee Quam) Ristau.

 

Upon graduation from Western Michigan University, Jack served as an officer in the US Army Reserves. Mr. Ristau retired as a Full Professor of Accounting at Miami University after 28 years of service. He performed seasonal tax work as a CPA for Barnthouse and Cornett for over ten years.

 

On December 28, 1984 he married Jane Mauger. Jack was an awesome and proud husband, father, and grandfather who loved his family dearly. He was a mentor to all, always placing the needs of others before his own. He loved all sports, was a lifelong fan of the Cubs, Packers and Miami Redskins and possessed a true passion for the game of golf. Jack would spend hours working any type of word puzzle.

 

He is survived by his wife, Jane Ristau; two sons, John (Rebecca) Ristau and Stephen Ristau; two daughters, Robin Lape and Jennifer (Brian) Riley; step-daughter, Terri (J. J.) Lee; eleven grandchildren, Ricci Lynn, Lauren, Matthew, David, Brittany, Sarah, Dustin, Joey, Megan, Jessica, and Melanie; one brother, David (Debra) Ristau of Modesto, California, and his son-in-law, Gary Lape. He was also preceded in death by his son, Daniel (Diane) Ristau.

 

Visitation at the First Church of God 3100 Princeton Road Sunday October 21, 2007 from 2:00 PM until the time of the funeral service at 3:00 PM with Dr. Keith Gebhart, officiating.
