Presentations
Jill Hermann-Wilmarth and Caitlin Ryan gave a keynote address at Illinois State University, guest spoke in 2 classes, and conducted modeling lessons for preservice teachers. We also provided a full day of professional development for elementary and middle school teachers and librarians from the Bloomington and Normal school districts. Learn more.

Allison Downey headlined the Kalamazoo Storytelling Festival at the Kalamazoo Valley Museum, as a featured performer for Art Hop. Downey, in her signature one-woman show-style performance, shared original personal narrative stories and songs around this year’s theme “Life in the Mitten.” Her material is a result of her research (and sabbatical study) of the contemporary personal narrative form. She also told a historical story about the Connor family, (19th Century African-American settlers to Covert, Michigan), that had been featured in her radio show, The Living Room, on Michigan Radio (NPR).

Amy Bentz is a co-author on the article -Investigating the Use of Formative Assessment among Male Saudi Arabian High School Science Teachers in the journal of International Journal of Environmental and Science Education.
Jill Hermann-Wilmarth and Caitlin Ryan, co edited a special issue of the journal Theory into Practice. The Theme for the journal is LGBTQ Topics in Elementary Education, Research and Practice.
