About Us

The Western Michigan University Writing Center is a free consultation service dedicated to helping individuals better understand, apply, and develop writing abilities through one-to-one, client consultations and genre specific workshops.

Our graduate and undergraduate writing consultants are trained to help writers and are passionate about helping you with your writing.

Our consultants work with all WMU students, graduate and undergraduate, who are on campus, at regional campuses, or in distance classes. All writers have different backgrounds, aspirations, and projects, and we are used to variety. Most writers seek help in an appointment. However, writers may have unique situations that require a different approach and should contact us if they do.

You may get writing assistance by making appointments or by calling (269) 387-4615 during our open hours. We have consultants on drop-in duty throughout the week as our schedule allows, and we have regular drop-in consulting available on Sunday evenings at the library.

For more information about writing assistance or requests for classroom and organization presentations, contact us.
