Applying to the Graduate Program

WMU has an online graduate application system that allows all students (domestic and international) to submit required information into one system. General application information for the University, as well as specific requirements for individual programs, are captured in this system.

You will be asked to include some program-specific information. Please review the summary of program requirements from the WMU Graduate College. You can bookmark that page for quick reference while working through the graduate application process.

Please note:

1. The Clinical Addiction Certificate is the only Addiction Studies Graduate Certificate program that qualifies for financial aid.

  • The Addiction Specialization only qualifies for aid if the student is concurrently taking courses in a degree awarding program (master's in counseling or social work, for example) that receives aid.

2. Apply for a "graduate certificate" and not the "professional certificate" program through the Dept. of Education and Human Development.

3. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis. However, the application must be complete (i.e. all official transcripts and required documents received) two weeks prior to the start of any given semester/session or the application will be deferred to the following semester/session. Once a semester/session has started, all applications will be deferred to the following semester/session.
