Apply to be an admissions ambassador!

How to apply 

To be eligible to apply, you must: 
  • Be available for two shifts Monday through Thursday and weekly training  
  • Be a current Western Michigan University undergraduate student 
  • Have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5
  • For the tour guide position, be graduating no earlier than two semesters after your start date 
Time commitment

Tour guides must be able to work two of the following shifts Monday through Thursday. A competitive application will also have availability Fridays and Saturdays.  

  • Monday through Thursday from 9:30 - 11:30 a.m. 
  • Monday through Thursday from 1- 3 p.m. 

In addition to work shifts, Ambassadors must be available for one weekly training session throughout the fall and spring semesters. Two training times are offered—Mondays or Tuesdays from 5 to 6 p.m.

The hiring process
  1. Students submit online applications that are evaluated by the Student Ambassador hiring team. 
  2. Students are selected from the pool of applicants and are offered in-person interviews. (A second interview may be conducted. )
  3. After all interviews have been conducted, final selections and offers are made.
