Dr. Karim Essani is a professor in the Department of Biological Sciences at Western Michigan Univerity.
Essani is a molecular virologist interested in the molecular and immunological aspects of viral infections, and uses the tanapox virus as a model. Apart from molecular biology and immunology of tanapoxvirus, his projects include molecular characterization of integral membrane proteins of colorectal cancer cells.
