Bio:
Bahar Saadaie Jahromi received her BSc. in Microbiology from Tehran Azad University. She graduated with a MSc. in Microbial Biotechnology from National Institute of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology of Iran studying potential bacteriocins and microbial peptides in combating COVID-19. She also received a MSc. In Biological Sciences from WMU in Dr. David Karowe's lab, studying the effects of wildfires shorter return intervals on soil bacterial community.
Currently she is a PhD student in the Department of Biological Sciences at Western Michigan University, working in Dr. Todd Barkman's laboratory, studying how plant enzyme functions have evolved. In particular, the SABATH multigene family evolution in flowering plants.
