The mission of the Department of Counselor Education and Counseling Psychology is to develop competent, ethical and culturally sensitive counselor education and counseling psychology professionals through graduate education and scholarship. To accomplish this mission, the department offers doctoral training in counseling psychology and counselor education and master's level training in counseling psychology, counselor education (clinical mental health counseling; marriage, couples and family counseling; and school counseling), and rehabilitation counseling and rehabilitation counseling/teaching with a concentration in blindness. We strive to recruit and retain students of diverse racial/ethnic backgrounds from local, state, national and international locations. We look forward to receiving your complete application.

The Unit Director of the Counselor Education training program and the Training Director of the Counseling Psychology training program are hosting information sessions for students who are interested in our master's program. If you would hear more about the differences between the different master's options (e.g., Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Counseling Psychology), want to know what we look for in competitive applicants, or have specific questions about the programs, you should attend one of the information sessions.
