Bio:

Dr. Glinda Rawls joined the Department of Counselor Education and Counseling Psychology faculty in spring 2013.  Dr. Rawls earned a doctorate in counselor education and supervision from Western Michigan University in 2008 and has a master of education degree in college student affairs leadership from Grand Valley State University and a masters of arts in student affairs in higher education (now known as college counseling) from Western Michigan University. She is a licensed professional counselor and licensed school counselor in the State of Michigan. In addition, Dr. Rawls holds a certification from the National Board of Certified Counselors and the Center for Credentialing Education. She is a nationally certified counselor and approved clinical supervisor.

Dr. Rawls is also a Fellow of the 2022-23 Mid-American Conference (MAC) Academic Leadership Development Program (ADLP). The program provides an opportunity for WMU faculty to gain valuable knowledge and experience in academic leadership by working closely with select administrators from other colleges and universities in the MAC. Dr. Rawls brings to the faculty both clinical and teaching experience. She was a school counseling intern in the Kalamazoo and Comstock Public Schools and has previously worked in various positions in academic and student affairs within higher education. Prior to joining the faculty, she has almost ten years of clinical experience providing individual, group, and career counseling services to college students at two public universities in Michigan. Dr. Rawls has taught undergraduate and graduate level courses at WMU since 2009. Dr. Rawls is an active member in several professional counseling organizations.
