Mu Beta Chapter
Chapter history
At the master’s-level, students are often reflecting the value of professional counseling membership through participation in the Mu Beta Chapter of Chi Sigma Iota Counseling Academic and Professional Honor Society International. The Mu Beta Chapter was founded in 2003 by members of the Counselor Education Unit faculty and two counselor education doctoral students. Dr. Stephanie Burns serves as the faculty advisor for the Mu Beta Chapter; Dr. Adkison-Johnson was the faculty advisor for the inaugural year and served in this capacity until 2012 when Dr. Burns assumed the role. At the doctoral-level, most students are not only eligible for Chi Sigma Iota membership, but they also assume leadership positions within the chapter.
