Carla Adkison-Johnson, who with her colleague Law Professor Cynthia Debose (Stetson University Law School) has recently had a paper accepted for presentation at the National Child Welfare, Juvenile and Family Law Conference. Debose is a graduate of Harvard Law School and a scholar in the area of family law. Dr. Adkison-Johnson’s presentation will center on her current research regarding African American child disciplinary practices and consultation activities involving family and criminal court. Their presentation and current project is the first in the field of law and psychology to articulate the legal definition of child discipline in all 50 states and its implications for African American parents.
