Dr. Susan Pozo, Distinguished Faculty Scholar, has developed teaching and research interests in a number of areas, informed by her experiences living all around the globe during both her childhood and adult years. Included in her portfolio of classes are:
- The economics of immigration
- International economics
- Latin American Economies
- Short-term study abroad courses with travel to Uruguay, Argentina, and the Dominican Republic
Her current research projects involve:
- Forced migration by Venezuelans and by the Rohingya people
- The impact of baseball culture on the education of children in the Dominican Republic
- How German immigrants’ remittances respond to the exchange rate
Pozo’s research has been funded by the United Nations, the Inter-American Development Bank, The National Institutes of Health, the Fulbright Foundation and the Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria. She is frequently sought out by journalist from the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and NPR. for commentary on pressing national and international economic issues.
