Advising

Academic advising helps you plan your Economics path at WMU. Whether you’re choosing a major or minor, picking electives, or making sure you’re on track to graduate, your advisor can help you understand degree requirements, connect you with campus resources, and answer questions about scheduling and deadlines. To stay on track, meet with an advisor regularly and book your appointments early, especially before registration and graduation deadlines.

What undergraduate advising can help with

  • Understanding the differences between the three economics majors (BA, BS, BBA)
  • Identify which economics minor (traditional, behavioral) fits best with your career plans
  • Planning your course schedule and choosing electives that match your interests
  • Making sure you stay on track for graduation
  • Talking through career goals, internships, and skills employers look for
  • Exploring opportunities like study abroad, research, or experiential learning
  • Navigating registration, overrides, and academic policies
  • Connecting you with tutoring and academic support, including the Bronco Study Zone
  • Referring you to other campus resources when you need extra support
