European Social Survey

OVERVIEW

The European Social Survey (ESS) is a cross-national research project that gathers data on social attitudes, beliefs, and behaviors across Europe. Established in 2001, it aims to track long-term trends in social and political values while ensuring high methodological standards. Conducted every two years, the survey covers topics such as democracy, immigration, well-being, and trust in institutions. The ESS provides freely accessible data to researchers, policymakers, and the public, helping to inform social policy and academic studies across Europe.
