Government Relations
The Office of Government Relations at Western Michigan University serves as the university's primary advocate with local, state, and federal government bodies. Our work focuses on building and sustaining relationships with elected officials, legislative staff, and government agencies to advance WMU's priorities — from securing funding for academic programs and campus infrastructure to shaping public policy that affects higher education across Michigan and beyond. By monitoring legislative developments, coordinating advocacy efforts, and representing the university's interests at all levels of government, our office helps ensure that WMU has a strong, informed voice in the decisions that shape its future and the communities it serves.
