Dr. Cassie Lopez-Jeng earned her Ph.D. in Global Community Health and Behavioral Sciences from Tulane University in 2016, her MPH with dual concentrations in Health Education and Communication, and Maternal and Child Health, from Tulane University in 2011, and her B.S. in Biology from the University of Michigan in 2009.

Her research agenda focuses on the intersection of public health and aging, exploring a variety of chronic and aging-specific issues through the lens of health education. Dr. Lopez-Jeng has worked on projects studying the definitions and social determinants of sarcopenia and sarcopenic obesity, the application of health education to organizational and patient safety, and the health-seeking behaviors of middle-aged women. Recent projects include interdisciplinary falls prevention programs in a variety of settings.
