Sustainability Celebration

WHAT:          Noon to 3 p.m.   Open House

To celebrate Western Michigan University’s (WMU's) commitment to sustainability and introduce the depth and breadth of campus and community programs and projects, WMU’s Office for Sustainability (OfS) invites you to attend the annual Sustainability Celebration on Friday, Sept. 22, 2023.

Open House

The Sustainability Celebration commences at noon with an open house that will feature current OfS program opportunities, EcoEssential distribution for new students, live music and refreshments. Participants will also have a chance to engage with other environmental organizations in the Kalamazoo area!

The Celebration is designed to spotlight broad sustainability efforts and to connect Broncos with sustainability leaders across campus and the community. This year we will have a special focus on transportation, and we will again welcome leaders focused on the intersections of justice, environment, food, waste, equity, climate, biodiversity, and more.

Bring your Bike

Guests are encouraged to bring their bikes to the event. The Office for Sustainability and Open Roads are collaborating to fix bikes during the event. The teams will be servicing bikes during the celebration. No registration is required for this free routine bicycle maintenance and advice! This portion of the event is first come, first served.

Location: 2529 W. Michigan Ave

Biking, walking and carpooling to the event is highly encouraged.
Complimentary parking will be available for attendees during the event in Lot 49 & 76.
