SSG Allocations Commission
Please nominate WMU students for membership on the WMU Student Sustainability Grant (SSG) Allocations Commission (SSGAC) by October 21, 2025. The SSGAC is the decision-making body of the Student Sustainability Grant (SSG) program. The competitive SSG program awards up to $75,000 each year in support of innovative student-led projects, research and initiatives. Self-nominations are allowed and encouraged.
SSGAC members review eligible student grant proposals during Fall and Spring semesters, deliberate and decide which proposals will be awarded funding. Members consider whether proposed activities have the potential to advance University-wide sustainability, benefit all students and support a culture of sustainability at WMU.
The SSGAC strives to seat two graduate and nine undergraduate student members representing all WMU colleges. Nominees will be reviewed and considered by the WSA Director of Sustainability, Mia, and finalists will be invited to become members of the SSGAC. Undergraduate appointees are confirmed by the Western Student Association.
SSGAC members are expected to attend a training meeting as well as deliberation meetings that occur after Thanksgiving Break and again after Spring Break (approximately 6 hours/semester).
