Western Michigan University has a growing number of students who are transferring from outside the state of Michigan. Our goal is to help you maximize your time your community college so that your transition to WMU is as smooth as possible. American Honors at Ivy Tech Community College

WMU is a member of American Honors, one of the most prestigious community college honors programs in the country. American Honors students receive automatic transfer acceptance upon program completion, when they maintain a 3.0 GPA and complete an associate's degree by the time they enroll at WMU. American Honors students must apply by January of their final year of the American Honors program. Visit the WMU American Honors website for more information.

Our transfer guides prepare students for a number of specific majors at WMU. We continue to work with faculty on your campus and ours to expand our list of available guides by community college.
