CAPTIONING AND TRANSCRIPTION SERVICES
Western Michigan University is committed to accessibility in our online and Elearning course content for all students. In compliance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 and WMU's Accessibility Guidelines, all faculty and instructional staff are asked to provide text alternatives to all non-text content being utilized in your course materials.
In order to meet the 1.2.2 WCAG guideline Level A conformance standards and the needs of our students, captions and transcripts are required for all time-based media. Time-based media refers to all computer-based content that have duration and dimension that can unfold to a viewer over time. This is inclusive of video, film, audio, slides presentations, and other various computer-based technologies.
Captioning services can take up to five business days and you will receive an email notification from MediaSite when your caption request is completed.
Transcripts and .srt caption files are available upon request and are not included in the order unless specified in the form below.
