Honors Open House

Experience what it is like to be an honors student at WMU

Honors Open House

We invite you to attend the Honors Open House on Friday, Oct. 11 and see if Western is the right place for you.

If you’re considering Western, it may be because you’ve heard that 9 out of 10 graduates are employed in jobs they like.* Or that 92% of graduates who are working full time have a job related to their degree.*

Before those graduates became the success stories they are today, they were everyday students on a beautiful campus in Kalamazoo, Michigan. They made friends for life, spent time with professors who gave them a love of learning, and developed the practical skills they needed to get started on their chosen path.

Want to experience this for yourself? Register for the October 11 Honors Open House!

Experience life as a Bronco

At the event, you'll have the opportunity to:

  • Learn the benefits of being an honors student, such as honors-only courses and special events.
  • Take a tour of campus, including the Lee Honors College (LHC), with a current student .
  • Talk with college representatives about your intended major, accelerated programs and graduate school.
  • Learn about honors-only domestic and international travel courses.
  • Discover the ins and outs of financial aid that could make your dreams of attending WMU a reality.
  • Attend a mock honors class lecture.
Online registration for the October 11 Honors Open House is closed. If you wish to register, please call our Campus Visit Center at (269) 387-2289.

Through WMU's 2022-23 Post-graduation Activity Survey of graduates (bachelor's, master's, doctoral and post-baccalaureate certificate), the University collected data for a total of 3,253 graduates, or 77%, of those who earned their degrees between August 2022 and June 2023. Three weeks before each graduation, all graduating students receive an email on behalf of their college dean, department chairperson or program director with a personalized link to the Post-graduation Activity Survey. Nonrespondents receive at least four reminders via email. The data collection cycle ended on Oct. 31, 2023. Based on the survey respondents, 2,456 were employed full time, 66 were employed part time and 536 employed their degree to gain admittance to graduate school or were otherwise continuing their education. In addition, 1,023 of those working full time were satisfied with their job, based on 1,125 responses, and 2,096 of those working full time had a job related to their degree, based on 2,270 responses. Please review the Career Outcomes Report for detailed information about the methodology.
