  • Exploratory Advising: Exploratory Advising is the temporary advising home primarily for first-year students who we used to call “undecided” or “undeclared” but who we now consider "exploring." Our job is to help you find the right major for you and then help you move into it as efficiently as possible. We do this by helping you learn more about yourself -- your interests, abilities, and values -- and WMU's academic programs and the careers that connect with those major programs. This presentation will provide you with an overview of our advising approach and what you can expect from us during your first year here at Western.
  • Financial Aid: We understand that financial aid can be challenging to understand; this presentation will introduce you to loans, grants, scholarships, FAFSA and other aspects that encompass financial aid.
  • Global Education & Study Abroad: WMU's Global Education Programs are innovative, two- and four-year programs that prepare undergraduates to succeed in and tackle the problems of our increasingly globalized world within their chosen fields of study. Students in the Global Leadership Program (4 years) and Global Collaboration Program (2 years) explore global topics and develop leadership skills through coursework, study abroad and local community involvement.
  • Haworth College of Business: Learn why the Haworth College of Business has been named one of the nation's "best business programs" by U.S. News & World Report year over year and why so many students call Haworth home.
  • Lee Honors CollegeWhat 'honors' looks like differs greatly between high school and college as well as between universities. At the Lee Honors College, we are committed to providing a deeper, more engaged path to graduation - not a longer one. During this session, we will get into more specifics of what being an honors student looks like at WMU academically, the value it can add to your overall college experience, and what it will mean for you as a graduate.
