What is the most rewarding and the most challenging part of your job?

Most rewarding part of my job is to work with a surgical team to help patients find medical diagnoses and even save lives. Most challenging part of my job is that I am not always able to see the end result of the surgery and what it did for that particular patient.

Which of your skills had the biggest impact on your success?

Critical thinking is a crucial still in the OR. Things can be going great one minute and in the next minute, chaos can strike and the patient's life may be in danger. Being able to think quick on your feet and act on it is very important and can ultimately be the difference between life and death.

What advice do you have for students looking for their career after college?

Find something that truly makes you happy and do it. After school, work consumes most of your life. It's critical to find something that inspires you so that you look forward to coming to work every day instead of finding yourself constantly complaining and unhappy. Enjoy what you do so that you can enjoy life.
