Sales Engineer at Honeywell

I am responsible for the profitable sales of all HTS products (components and systems) within Michigan. I manage all aspects of engagement with existing and new customers, build relationships, and understand customer business in order to provide the appropriate products or solutions. My job is to engineer, select, propose, sell, and provide after sales support for combustion products and systems suitable to meet the customer’s application.

What is the most rewarding and the most challenging part of your job?

The most rewarding and challenging part of my job is designing and selling a solution to fit a specific customer’s application. I have to show that my products can provide the correct functionality for the customer’s process at a competitive price point.

Which of your skills had the biggest impact on your success?

Communication. You will not be able to convey your knowledge or experience to a future employer if you do not know how to properly communicate it.

What advice do you have for students looking for their career after college?

Try different types of internships within your field - do not just stick to a certain role. The point of an internship is not only to gain experience to show employers, but to see what your strengths and passions are within your field. Diversifying your internship experiences will help you pin point where you want to take your career.
