I currently write microservices in spring/spring boot for a military housing company. I help architect the backend and manage deployments using AWS, Docker and Kubernetes. My experience came from internships while at WMU helping to build spring applications for the healthcare industry.
If you had a campus job or internship, how did they impact your career development?
I had my first internship as an engineering design tech and I hated it. That shaped me to pivot to computer science and since then I have not looked back.
What advice do you have for others pursuing a career similar to yours?
Learn frameworks not languages. Separate yourself from the pack early on so you stand out in the future.
