Zhang Legacy Collections Center Event Policy

The Zhang Legacy Collections Center supports programming that aligns with the Western Michigan University Libraries’ mission and the educational goals of WMU. The Rogers Reading Room and other Zhang Legacy Collections Center spaces are for WMU academic and scholarly activities that relate to the University Archives or the Libraries’ Regional History Collection and Special Collections, with priority for research visits, class meetings, and course-related activities involving materials held in the Zhang Legacy Collections building.

Groups from outside of the University who would like to use the Zhang facilities will need a WMU sponsor and approval from Zhang collections staff or WMU Libraries Administration. The facility may not be used for fund-raising activities for any non-WMU entities or projects. Fees may apply.

Requestors should provide a written proposal to the Zhang staff with details about the event including purpose, date, time, number of anticipated attendees, refreshments, setup needs, and any other information which would impact the hosting of the event at least two weeks prior to the planned event. A decision will be made promptly based upon criteria in the policy.
