Annual Sustainability Celebration features campus, community sustainability groups
KALAMAZOO, Mich.—The 2022 Sustainability Celebration at Western Michigan University on Friday, Sept. 23, offers all Broncos including students, staff and faculty a chance to connect with campus sustainability leaders. Join us for networking and delicious vegan refreshments.
Sponsored by WMU’s Office for Sustainability, the annual event celebrates the University's commitment to sustainability by highlighting campus engagement opportunities and local community sustainability champions.
Open house
The Sustainability Celebration commences at noon with an open house that will feature campus and community sustainability groups, EcoEssential distribution for new students, live music, refreshments and more. The open house is designed to create new opportunities for advancing collaboration and making new connections.
Bring your bike
Guests are encouraged to bring their bikes to the event. The Office for Sustainability and Open Roads are collaborating to support the City of Kalamazoo’s UniZooCity event series. The teams will be servicing bikes during the celebration. No registration is required for this free routine bicycle maintenance and advice. This portion of the event is first come, first served.

about the OFFICE FOR SUSTAINABILITY
Located on the corner of Howard and West Michigan Ave at 2529 W. Michigan Ave., the Office for Sustainability is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Its mission is to guide and assist the campus community in fulfilling and growing its sustainability commitments. Through building a diverse and flourishing learning community around sustainability, we will continually explore and develop new opportunities to create a culture of sustainability and improve quality of life for all.
Biking, walking or carpooling to the event is highly encouraged. Complimentary parking will be available for attendees during the event in Lot 49 and Lot 76.
