Spring 2024 career fairs connect Western students with hundreds of employers

KALAMAZOO, Mich.—Hundreds of employers will vie for students to fill full- and part-time jobs as well as internships and co-op positions during spring career fairs beginning Tuesday, Feb. 6. The Western Michigan University-organized events are free and open to the public, although they are tailored to students and recent graduates.

Employers have posted jobs to the online career site Handshake. WMU's Career and Student Employment Services and the Zhang Career Center offer advising and resources year round to help students prepare for interviews and refine their resumes. Students with questions regarding resumes, cover letters, activating their Handshake account or navigating any job search resources can work with well-trained student career ambassadors by visiting any of the four drop-in locations. Drop-in advice sessions typically take between 10 and 20 minutes.

  • WMU Student Center, across from the elevators and outside PNC Bank on first floor: Mondays-Thursdays from 1 to 4 p.m.

  • Floyd Hall, outside Parkview Café entrance: Tuesdays-Thursdays from noon to 3 p.m.

  • College of Health and Human Services, atrium next to Student Engagement Center: Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

The biggest spring event is the annual spring Career Fair in February, which focuses on those seeking employment in such areas as aviation, business, health care, integrated supply chain management, IT and liberal arts.

Registration is not required for students or other job seekers, but it is recommended participants register on Handshake.
