Unity Weekend

Unity Weekend celebrates our partnership between the Academic Community/Colleges of WMU, our students, and the communities at large with the goal of inclusively increasing access to WMU and community-based partnerships. Events take place surrounding the September 14 Bronco Football game against Bethune-Cookman University, a Historically Black College/University (HBCU).

Mike Epps

Mike Epps Live – Friday, Sept. 13, 7:30 pm

To kick off Unity Weekend, WMU's Miller Auditorium brings Mike Epps Live! The nationally known actor and comedian has been featured on comedy central and netflix. Epps has been seen in over 40 cities and three continents doing standup.

This breakfast conversation brings together faculty, students and community stakeholders to discuss our current political moment and the challenges and opportunities of the 2024 elections for BIPOC communities.

In recognition of WMU's service and student leadership, the National Pan-Hellenic Council will be hosting a Greek Unity Celebration at the Pub Patio of the new Student Center.

As WMU takes on Bethune-Cookman University, Detroit's Renaissance High School marching band will play in the stands.

Multicultural Greek Council: Fiesta! – Sunday, Sept. 15, 4pm

On the first day of Hispanic Heritage Month, WMU's Multicultural Greek Council will be hosting Fiesta! at the W Plaza, in the heart of campus, with fun games food, community and family engagement.
