Building upon the variety of business skills students learn in their pre-business courses, the management major provides advanced learning in three core competencies that are of great demand in the business world: problem solving, teamwork and leadership.
Employers note that these are critical skills they seek out in both current employees and job applicants. The management major at WMU uniquely prepares you to interact with peers, subordinates, supervisors and clients with enriching experiences both inside and outside the classroom.
Be part of Haworth College of Business management major and explore, examine and develop the skills needed to navigate through the dynamic business world.
Beyond the classroom
Through the management major, you will have real-world exposure to business challenges and the opportunity to problem solve to reach solutions. During every academic year, our students contribute more than 8,000 hours of assistance to nearly 30 entrepreneurs, small business owners and non-profit organizations seeking insight on growth opportunities. Additionally, our majors collaborate with a number of professional organizations in southwest Michigan, including the Small Business Development Center, the Service Corps of Retired Executives and a variety of municipalities.
