Pursue a B.B.A. in Accountancy
WMU Haworth's accountancy program is built around one goal: Graduating students who are ready to lead. Backed by supplemental AACSB accounting accreditation, the program gives you a rigorous foundation in financial reporting, auditing, taxation and business law.
You'll develop the analytical and communication skills that employers in public accounting, corporate finance, government and consulting actively seek.
And you have a team of advisors at the Zhang Career Center to work alongside you, helping connect you to internships, resources to prepare for the CPA exam and a global network of accounting professionals. Whether you're aiming for a CPA license, a Big Four firm or a career in the nonprofit sector, this degree is designed to get you there.
What you’ll learn
The accounting curriculum at WMU Haworth covers core business principles alongside specialized coursework in auditing, taxation, financial reporting and information systems. You’ll develop critical thinking, problem-solving and technology skills that translate directly to the demands of modern accounting practice.
The program also prepares you to meet the 150-credit-hour requirement for CPA licensure. And, for those who want to get there faster, you can complete both your B.B.A. and M.S.A. in five years. You’ll also be able to participate in organizations like Beta Alpha Psi and NABA at WMU to help you meet fellow students, network with professionals and add to your classroom experience.
Throughout my experiences, my professors have taken time to guide me, answer questions and support my growth beyond the classroom. The combination of community and mentorship is what has made WMU Haworth feel more than just a business school—it's a place to thrive.
Where you’ll be after graduation
Graduates of WMU Haworth's accounting program go on to careers as auditors, tax accountants, financial planners, corporate accountants, internal auditors and consultants. Recent graduates have landed roles at firms including Plante Moran, PwC, BDO, Ally Financial, Deloitte and Bank of America. WMU Haworth’s Zhang Career Center connects accounting students with internships, career coaching, interview preparation and employer networking events specific to the accounting field.
