Our student-run organizations offer the ability to explore your interests, network, develop leadership skills and obtain professional experience, all while building memories with friends.

Business Bash

This event is held every fall and spring semester and gives you the opportunity to connect with student organizations, departments and centers in a fun, informal atmosphere. Whether you are seeking an organization that aligns with your interests or intended major, are looking to study abroad or need more information about the required courses for your major, you will find it at Business Bash.

Any student who is interested in accounting is welcome. Members explore the profession and develop the skills needed for careers as accountants through resume-critiquing sessions and networking opportunities with students, faculty and accounting professionals.

If advertising is your passion—or even if you want to explore what a career in advertising could look like—we have a spot for you in AdClub! The WMU AdClub connects students with advertising professionals in a variety of career paths through speaker events, giving you a chance to see what your future path could look like.

The Association of Healthcare Business Leaders (AHBL) connects you with healthcare industry professionals. The Gamma Rho Chapter of Beta Alpha Psi (BAP) is all about connecting you to the right people so you can embark on your professional path with excitement and confidence. We are an internationally recognized, co-ed organization for accountancy, finance and information systems students. Learn more about the partner companies that work with the Department of Accountancy and BAP to develop programs and valuable opportunities.

The purpose of the Blockchain Crypto Club is to provide a place where you can share and learn more about blockchain technology, cryptocurrency, and the global impact and legal environments that are constantly changing.

The organization focuses on exploring your interest in cybersecurity and is open to any major. The club provides you with the chance to enjoy professional and social activities in both virtual and in-person formats. The club’s focus on connections is one of its defining features.

Business Analytics and Information Technology (BAIT) connects you to the importance of technology and how it affects every industry. Each semester, the organization offers events and activities, such as guest speakers from the IT field, tours of local companies and social events. BAIT partners with the Department of Business Information Systems to offer networking opportunities.

Open to all business majors and minors, as well as students interested in business law careers, the Business Law Society provides you a platform to engage with peers and industry professionals. You will deepen your understanding of business law topics, gain practical insights and forge valuable connections.

DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management in high schools and colleges around the globe. You will benefit from DECA at Western Michigan University through the chapter's emphasis on leadership, professionalism and performance.

Delta Sigma Pi is a professional fraternity that fosters the study of business in universities, encouraging scholarship, social activity and the association of students for their mutual advancement. You will experience the affiliation between the commercial world and academics as you pursue a higher standard of ethics, culture and civic and commercial welfare for the community.

If you want to enhance your digital marketing skills, stay on top of trends and learn from current industry experts, then join Digital Marketing at WMU! The organization is open to all students looking to be at the forefront of marketing—improving their digital marketing skills and preparing for careers in areas like analytics, social media, content strategy and digital advertising. The organization brings together students and industry experts for educational events, workshops, mentorship and community building.

The Financial Planning Association at WMU provides you educational, networking and career opportunities. The organization's goals are to heighten awareness and understanding of financial planning in the WMU community. This group is open to all finance and personal financial planning majors and minors interested in financial services careers.

The Financial Services Association connects you to fellow students interested in financial services careers such as financial planning, insurance, accounting, estate planning and wealth management. Student membership includes membership in the Society of Financial Service Professionals, which is made up of professionals from across the country. The Financial Services Association is open to all finance majors and minors, personal financial planning majors, accountancy majors and minors, and students interested in financial services careers.

Opportunity awaits with Western Michigan University’s Food Marketing Association (FMA). Through the organization’s events, you will have the chance to connect with professionals from leading food and consumer packaged goods companies who can guide you in launching a successful career. FMA provides social engagement, guest speakers, seminars and industry tours, all within a supportive community that benefits you.

The Hispanic Business Organization (HBO) promotes, furthers and enhances the academic and professional development of Hispanic students. HBO embraces diversity, equity and inclusion in the college and professional world. The organization offers you professional development workshops, networking opportunities, and presentations from Hispanic alumni and professionals.

The Leadership and Business Strategy student organization is open to all WMU students. The group works with professionals within the Kalamazoo community, helping you develop a better understanding of leadership roles in professional environments. Each semester, the organization offers networking opportunities through panel discussions and presentations with professionals from different organizations as a way to help you develop leadership skills and create a fellowship with other students who share a passion to lead.

The National Association of Black Accountants (NABA) is dedicated to bridging the opportunity gap for Black business leaders in accounting, finance and entrepreneurship. Representing more than 10,000 Black business leaders, NABA helps you advance by providing education, resources and meaningful career connections. You will have opportunities to learn from alumni professionals, attend networking events and more. Regional conferences are held each year.

Out for Business is a professional student organization for motivated LGBTQIA+ business students and allies. The group holds events including guest speakers, workshops and career development opportunities to develop your skill sets while maintaining a safe space for LGBTQIA+ professionals through collaboration and team building.

Phi Chi Theta is a co-ed business fraternity that focuses on professionalism, with resume critiques, interview skill development, professional events and networking. You will become a leader and active member in the community while also having fun through social events and intramural sports.

To be the best in sales, you need to surround yourself with the best. Lucky for you the Sales and Business Marketing Association at WMU is full of amazing sales students and fantastic faculty! Join us to learn from employers, polish your sales skills and get ready for upcoming competitions.
