Earning college credit before enrolling as a college freshman is a great way for students to get an early start on their college education. WMU offers many opportunities for students to earn college credits before becoming a Bronco.
Advanced placement and international baccalaureate credit
For Advanced Placement credit consideration, send official exam scores to the WMU Admissions Office using our code, 1902.
For International Baccalaureate credit consideration, send an official IB transcript to the WMU Admissions Office.
High school dual enrollment
WMU will grant credit for transferable college courses taken during high school, even if a course was also counted for high school credit. Students should request an official transcript to be sent to WMU Admissions from the college where the credits were earned.
High school students in the greater Kalamazoo area who have demonstrated the potential for success in college and have the approval of their high school principal may be eligible to enroll in WMU classes.
More details can be found on the Dual Enrollment web page.
Early/middle college students
Western Michigan University invites and welcomes high school students attending and graduating from an early/middle college program to apply and enroll. Visit our early/middle college web page for more information about the various steps in the enrollment process.
