Program description
This major prepares students to teach family and consumer sciences curriculum at the middle or secondary level. Family and consumer sciences teachers are in high demand across the country.
Accreditation
The family and consumer sciences teacher education major is an approved State Board of Education and National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) teacher education program.
Careers
Teaching in middle, junior high and senior high schools in the specific area chosen. Examples of teaching areas: health, life skills, nutrition, sewing, personal finance and child care.
Certification
This degree program leads to a State of Michigan Provisional Certificate with a vocational endorsement.
