This program offers an Accelerated Graduate Degree Program.
This major prepares students to teach family and consumer sciences curriculum at the middle or secondary level. Family and consumer sciences teachers are in high demand across the country. The program leads to a state of Michigan standard certificate. A CTE vocational certificate can optionally be included, but is not required for graduation. The CTE certification requires 4000 hours in recent and relevant work experience. The 4000 hours can be completed as follows: completion of program = 2000 hours; completion of clinical experience = 1000 hours; documentation of wage-earning experience (by resume and verification of work experience form) = 1000 hours.
