Program description

Do you have technical knowledge that you would like to learn to share with others? Do you have interest in learning business fundamentals as well as the latest training techniques? Have you always wanted to teach, but not in a k-12 school environment? This major prepares students to work in a technical training setting. The major is cross-disciplinary and allows students to acquire technical training skills while focusing on areas of personal interest. The major includes a customized field experience and an internship that is intended to align with student interest and career goals.

This major intends to prepare graduates for a variety of workforce development and career guidance positions. Graduates from the program have the opportunity to become trainers and job placement specialists in business and industry, higher education, social services and the government sectors.

MASTER OF ARTS

Program description

Upon choosing from a variety of focus areas, students expand their expertise in career and technical education program administration and acquire advanced curriculum and instructional competencies in career-related training programs, school-to-work initiatives, student leadership development and special populations. 

Accelerated Graduate Degree Program

During their senior year of their undergraduate program, students in the accelerated program may take up to 12 credit hours of graduate course work which also counts in their credits toward their undergraduate degree. This program is open to undergraduates business education, family and consumer sciences teacher education or industrial technology education majors.
