Linda Harrison is administrator at Michigan Geological Repository for Research and Education (MGRRE) facility in Department of Geological and Environmental Sciences at Western Michigan University. She organizes technology transfer workshops and works with industry partners. She and Bill Harrison have secured donations of cores, cuttings and well records from Michigan’s natural resources for three decades. Harrison manages repository’s financial operations, finds potential sources of grants, helps write proposals and maintains donor relationships. She also handles public relations for MGRRE, writing articles and taking photographs.
Having owned a successful business for more than twenty years, Harrison has come back to her first love of geology, where she uses her organizational and marketing skills to advance MGRRE’s missions. After her bachelor's and master's degrees in geology, she taught geology at the secondary level and at WMU.
