Yuri Estrada

Yuri Estrada is an Honors Advisor and proud longtime Bronco. She graduated from Western Michigan University in 2019 with a bachelor’s degree in Global and International Studies and Spanish and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Hispanic Studies.

Previously, Yuri served as a WMU Admissions Counselor, where she recruited students across Southwest Michigan and played a key role in expanding access for Spanish-speaking families. She helped develop a bilingual admissions program that is now an integral part of the University’s open house events. As a native Spanish speaker and fully bilingual professional, Yuri is deeply committed to finding innovative pathways to support first-generation and underrepresented students in higher education.

Outside of campus, Yuri enjoys traveling, spending time with friends, reading, poetry, going on walks, playing tennis, and exploring new cuisines. She loves visiting the beaches of Lake Michigan and attending theatre events at WMU. Her favorite dinosaur in the Dinosaur Park is the brachiosaurus, she admires its long neck and its reputation as the ultimate treetop muncher.
