Hi! This is my fourth year working at the Lee Honors college. Some of my hobbies include reading, baking, and playing card/board games with friends. I am also president of TAPPI Ts’ai Lun! I have felt so supported and included while in the honors college. I love just hanging out in the LHC building and seeing familiar faces. Being in the honors college has been such a significant part of my college career. I am very excited to study abroad with the LHC this fall. I would highly recommend getting involved!

Hi there! My name is Maria Gabriela Hernandez, and this is my second year working in the front desk of the Honors College. At Western, I am currently participating in lab research regarding the effect of exercise in longevity and in keeping a highly functional nervous system especially throughout old age. Personally, I love flowers, reading, and drinking coffee. In my free time, I like playing volleyball and going biking. When I am back home, my favorite activity is going to the beach and spending time with my family. I hope to be of help to others in every aspect of my life, whether that is in my personal life, my student life, or my work life. I am extremely grateful for everything that has led me to be here at Western, studying what I truly love!

This year I have gone to Mexico, Spain, and Italy. On campus I am involved with CRU in which I have built a great community within. I hope to see you all around the LHC! I am excited to meet you!

Hi everyone! My name is Ashley and I work at the front desk here at the LHC. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, the gym, and volunteering at an animal shelter. Being part of the LHC community has been a great addition to my college experience, and I hope I can help make others feel welcome and supported just as I have.

Hello! I’m Sam and I’ve been working as a front-desk receptionist at the LHC since spring of 2025! I'm a Medallion scholar recipient as well as an intern at the Kalamazoo Book Arts Center where I work on letterpressing and printing! I love all things internet/tech where it meets the arts such as photography, video editing, audio production, 3D modeling, social media, and (of course) graphic design! Fun fact: I’m also a proud FIRST Robotics alum, which first sparked my interest into my major. I’m always excited to hear what other people are passionate about so feel free to stop me after my shift and say hi! I’ve been taking honors courses here since my freshman year so I’m happy to share recommendations if you’re looking for your next class!

Hey there! My name is Erin Grady, and I’m so excited to be joining the Lee Honors College staff this year. When I’m not in the studio working on designs, I love to crochet, cross-stitch, and play board games with friends! I also love to pick up new hobbies, so if you have one you would love to share with someone, you know who to talk to! On campus, I am currently a member of the Interior Design Student Organization (IDSO) and Alpha Lambda Delta. I also had the wonderful opportunity to go on the LHC Study in the States course Walt’s Pilgrimage this past summer, so if you have any questions about that course, please stop by! I can't wait to get the school year started and see everyone at the LHC!
