PEP Resources
The following resources offer Post-Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) HIV medicines if you may have been exposed to HIV. Medications must be taken within 3 days (72 hours) of possible HIV exposure in order to be the most effective.
Emergency Department and Level I Trauma Center

Bronson Family Medicine is open Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is located in Suite M-020 in Bronson Hospital downtown (601 John St.). Patients can schedule an appointment by logging into Bronson MyChart, or by calling (269) 341-8282.
The Community AIDS Resource and Education Services (CARES) offers PEP for those who may have been exposed to HIV within 72 hours. Appointments can be scheduled by calling (269) 210-7570 or using their online scheduling portal.
PrEP Resources
The following resources offer Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) HIV medicines to reduce the risk of HIV infection. PrEP is must be taken daily for maximum protection before engaging in sexual behaviors.
Bronson Family Medicine is open Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is located in Suite M-020 in Bronson Hospital downtown (601 John St.). Patients can schedule an appointment by logging into Bronson MyChart, or by calling (269) 341-8282.
The Community AIDS Resource and Education Services (CARES) offers PrEP HIV prevention including consultations and testing. Appointments can be scheduled by calling (269) 381-2337 (ext. 2) or using their online scheduling portal.

Mistr offers labs, doctor consultations, STI testing, and PrEP medications to be delivered within the privacy of your own home. Mistr will work with your insurance or with patient assistance programs if you qualify. For more information, visit the Mistr website or call (747) 999-6249.
OptiMed Pharmacy is located inside WMed on WMU east campus (1000 Oakland Dr.) and is open Monday-Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. or Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. OptiMed Pharmacy offer PrEP medications and over the counter birth control. Visit their website for more information or call (877) 297-8157.
Planned Parenthood Kalamazoo offers Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) HIV prevention. Services can include STI testing, treatment, and vaccines during all business hours by appointment. Appointments can be scheduled online or by calling (269) 372-1200. Planned Parenthood accepts most private and public insurance, Medicaid, and offers financial aid for those who qualify and are uninsured.
Sindecuse offers Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) HIV prevention medication by prescription. To obtain a prescription, individuals must schedule an appointment with a care provider through the Sindecuse patient portal or by calling (269) 387-3287 (then press 2).
Testing Services
The following community providers can provide free or low cost testing for HIV or other STI's. It is recommended that you call service providers to schedule an appointment.
The Community AIDS Resource and Education Services (CARES) offers free HIV rapid testing (finger poke with results in 20 minutes) and STI testing at their offices located at 629 Pioneer Street, Suite 200. Additional services offered include Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) HIV prevention and Post-Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) for those who may have been exposed to HIV within 72 hours. Appointments can be scheduled by calling (269) 210-7570 or using their online scheduling portal.
Free and anonymous HIV Testing is provided at the Kalamazoo Health Department including pre and post-test counseling and rapid HIV testing. A photo ID and any health insurance cards are required. STI testing may be available and charges are based on services provided. Testing for the Kalamazoo Health Department is located at 311 East Alcott Street and is by appointment only, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.- 5 p.m.
