Stephanie Althoff

I began my academic career at WMU as a part-time instructor in 2019 before transitioning to a full-time faculty role in the Fall of 2025. Prior to teaching, I spent nearly ten years working as an occupational therapist in the acute care setting, with additional experience in inpatient rehab, home health, and outpatient rehab. My time as a clinical educator for the acute care rehab team cemented my shift towards education and I am grateful to continue my journey as an educator at WMU. In the classroom, I love witnessing those “lightbulb moments” when concepts clearly come together and introducing students to the vast possibilities within OT as a career.

Fun Fact: My favorite pastimes are cooking and gardening. I find joy in spending long afternoons in the kitchen and am currently dabbling in cheesemaking as a tip of the hat to my Wisconsin roots. Garlic is my top choice for growing in the garden – loved by me and, thankfully, ignored by the neighborhood deer.
