Azalia Gonzalez will be joining the OT Department as a Faculty Specialist I. Azalia is a board-certified occupational therapist with experience treating patients with neurological, neuro degenerative, and musculoskeletal conditions. Regardless of an individual’s condition, she believes in a holistic and collaborative approach to reach her patient’s goals. A Los Angeles native, she decided to move to Michigan for graduate school and immediately realized she was passionate about teaching/mentoring students which resulted in her pursuing her doctorate degree immediately after graduating with her MSOT. Azalia has worked through the continuum of care including Acute Care, Inpatient Rehab, Home Health, Long Term Care, and Outpatient settings.
Fun Fact: In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, hiking, trying new food, and caring for her adopted elderly cat.
