Assessment Allies Workshops
The Office of Assessment and Undergraduate Studies in collaboration with the University Assessment Steering Committee will be holding two 'Assessment Allies Workshops' this spring focusing on the topic of using outcomes assessment to help students to learn and succeed both inside and outside of the classroom.
Dr. Gavin Henning, a faculty member at New England College, will be facilitating these workshops. Dr. Henning has been involved in higher education in various roles including professor, assessment practitioner and student affairs educator for over 25+ years. He is highly regarded in the fields of higher education administration and assessment, has written various publications and presented on these topics internationally. The workshops will focus on:
- Identifying and formalizing what you are already doing in the classroom and co-curricular programs to assess student learning
- How to create meaningful and measurable learning outcomes for both graduate and undergraduate students
- Developing useful and meaningful methods to measure outcomes
- How to simplify assessment efforts
- How to help everyone become involved with assessment
- Sharing new and tried and true strategies for assessing learning

Learner Support/Student Affairs workshop: Thursday, January 31, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. (including a 1-hour lunch break)
Academic Affairs workshop: Friday, February 1, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. (including a 1-hour lunch break)
