Data at WMU
If you are looking for data that might help to answer student outcome assessment questions, it may already be available. The hub for most institutional data is the Office of Institutional Research (IR), and our colleagues in IR can be an excellent partner in assisting you to find and/or create the data needed to help answer your assessment questions.
Other sources of helpful data can be found across campus. For example, WMU participates in bench-marking studies, external and internal surveys, and more.
Take a look at the list below for more information. If you know of a data source that isn't listed here, and would like to share it with others, let us know. Thank you!
- Reports and dashboards containing WMU data - enrollment and credit hours, degrees awarded, retention and graduation rates (and more)
- National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE) and Faculty Survey of Student Engagement (FSSE) - For questions, contact the Office of Institutional Effectiveness via email or by phone: 269-387-3867
- WMU Career Outcomes Dashboard
- Campus Climate Survey - For questions, contact the Office of Diversity and Inclusion via email or by phone: 269-387-6313
We also suggest that you can contact Daria Orlowska, Data Librarian in University Libraries, for consultation. She is available to assist with finding data, and would be happy to talk through strategies for looking for, and for assessing resources to supplement any data you may already have.
