Fall Convocation 2018

On the morning of Friday, September 14, please join us for the Sixth Annual Teaching & Learning Bash and Assessment as Ally programs set to take place starting at 8:30 a.m. in rooms 209 and 210 in the Bernhard Center.

The Office of Faculty Development, in collaboration with the University Assessment Steering Committee and Extended University Programs, will be providing a morning program that includes presentations by the recipients of the 2017 Distinguished Teaching Award as well as poster presentations by the 2017-18 Academic Leadership Academy cohort and recipients of prior Instructional Development grants. Additionally, there will be demonstrations on new technology and multiple round table discussions.

As a part of the Assessment as Ally portion programming, the University Assessment Steering Committee will be providing information tables on topics ranging from assessment mentoring, writing learning outcomes for both graduate and undergraduates programs, and sharing information about assessment resources. There will also be colleagues available to share information regarding designing, assessing and submitting courses for the new WMU Essential Studies program.

Starting at 11:00 a.m., don't miss the convocation ceremony including the announcement of the 2018 Faculty and Staff Awards and then at 11:45 a.m., Dr. Edward Montgomery, President, will be sharing the 2018 State of the University Address.
