A Flight Coordinator reports to the Chief Pilot through the Manager of Flight Coordination and is directly responsible to the President.
The Flight Coordinator’s specific duties are as follows:
- Assigning available aircraft to aircrews who are current, trained, qualified, appropriately rated, and have a current medical to conduct flights under 14 USC part 135 and approved by UJC, Inc.
- Obtaining the necessary diplomatic clearances prior to departure for all flights into or over foreign countries and those countries listed in the Operations Specifications.
- Preparing and distributing the Trip Schedule, observing duty, rest and flight time requirements. Trip Schedules will denote at minimum: Date, Aircraft N#, Crew Names, Arrival/Departure cities, ETD/ETA times, Part 91 or 135 rules, and all other pertinent information.
- Monitoring the assigned flights, aircraft status, and assignment of crew members.
- Communicating changes made to the flight schedule and or tail number reassignments with the appropriate departments.
- Supervising the quality of the flight coordination and operational control processes.
- Planning and implementing irregular operations, as necessary.
- Acing as the central contact in response to communication from crewmembers or maintenance personnel by providing advice or direction on problem resolution.
- Periodically auditing a sample of Trip Schedules.
- Coordinating with the Chief Pilot to verify times, delays, and any cancellations.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of procedures, and Operations Specifications as well as all applicable CFRs.
- A current aircraft dispatcher certificate or previous experience in a Part 121/135 environment, or equivalent experience education.
