Search for Associate Vice President of Diversity and Inclusion

The Associate Vice President of Diversity and Inclusion is responsible and accountable for providing leadership in Western Michigan University’s diversity education planning, program development and advancement of DEI initiatives. They would also be responsible for tracking programs and trainings as they relate to diversity, equity, inclusion and social justice strategic goals. Major duties include collaborating with the University community to develop and evaluate DEI initiatives and programs, assisting in the implementation, tracking and managing the Racial Justice Advisory Committee (RJAC) Recommendations and outcomes, supporting the Vice President of Diversity and Inclusion in setting strategic goals and priorities, and advising college-level DEI leads and senior administration about implementing systems changes to address disparities at WMU. They would be responsible for the coordination and implementation of assessment of diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives and programs.

Each of the candidates will visit Western's Main Campus the week of June 5, 2023, to meet the search committee, Office of Diversity and Inclusion staff, registered student organizations and senior campus leaders as well as give a campuswide presentation. Following the campuswide presentations from each of the candidates, please fill out the surveys posted below to provide your thoughts.
