Gogan Publishes article on threshold concepts

This article reports results from an empirical study of seventy-five learners enrolled across four sections of a writing-intensive course, suggesting that the reading that occurs in a writing-intensive course is transformative across the disciplines.
Joe Silver wins College Media Journalist radio award

Rhetoric and writing studies major Joe Silver, who serves as the music director at WIDR, received the Rookie of the Year award from at College Media Journalist's Music Marathon. The award recognizes Silver's effective communication. Congratulations, Joe!

Ambrosia Neldon featured in Inside Higher Ed

Neldon serves as an editor for the Western Herald and spearheaded the successful Save Student Media campaign that protected student media outlets from imminent dissolution.
Craig Manning and Micah Carlson receive Carlson prize

Craig Manning and Micah Carlson were named co-recipients of the Bernadine P. Carlson Prize for Professional Writing at the 2013 English Department Award Ceremony. The Prize recognizes the professionalism exhibited by and the superior written communication produced by Manning and Carlson.

Ambrosia Neldon named Excellence in Rhetoric and Writing Studies Award winner

Congratulations to Ambrosia Neldon, the 2013 recipient of the Excellence in Rhetoric and Writing Studies Award. The award recognizes exemplary work ethic and outstanding work in rhetoric and writing studies.
Neldon received the award at the English Department's 2013 Award Ceremony.
