Sigma Tau Delta is the International English Honors Society. The WMU Department of English is home to the thriving Alpha Nu Pi chapter, which currently boasts around 50 undergraduate and graduate student members. Under the direction of faculty advisor Dr. Adrienne Redding, our chapter won the 2024 Golden Bronco Award for Most Improved Registered Student Organization.

Sigma Tau Delta is more than an honors society. It's the heart of our department's student community. Each semester our chapter hosts pizza lunches, movie nights, study sessions, writing workshops, and other social events for all English students.

Sigma Tau Delta also offers members a range of scholarly opportunities and learning experiences. In the past four years, members of Alpha Nu Pi have also attended and presented at national Sigma Tau Delta conferences in Denver, St. Louis, Pittsburgh, and New Orleans--all expenses paid.
