Rhetoric and Writing Studies Internships and Client Projects

Rhetoric and writing studies majors and minors prepare themselves for careers by completing internships and client projects, often as part of their coursework.

Rhetoric and writing studies majors and minors often complete internships with local businesses and non-profits. Some of these internships are paid, while others fulfill elective credit as ENGL 4950. Rhetoric and writing studies students have recently interned with the following organizations:

  • MPI Research
  • Battle Creek Veterans Affairs Medical Center
  • Portage Public Schools
  • Westwood Neighborhood Association
  • PeaceJam
  • Kalamazoo Community Foundation
  • WOOD TV 8

A number of organizations have teamed-up with the rhetoric and writing studies program to establish competitive internships offered each semester. If you’re interested in a specific opportunity, please contact Charlotte Thralls or Brian Gogan.

The rhetoric and writing studies program partners with Career and Student Employment Services to identify internship and employment opportunities that seek expertise in writing. Rhetoric and writing studies students receive email notices about these opportunities and are encouraged to browse current opportunities using BroncoJOBS.
